The shopping list that learns from your receipt.
Lemonlist brings the shopping list, the supermarket cart and the receipt together in one place. The list is shared in real time with the family, the total shows live as you shop and, once the receipt comes in, the app learns what each thing costs — and tells you when the price is good. Product, UX, interface, brand and code are mine, from the first sketch to the published app.
The brand
A lemon with eyes, a lowercase name and a lime green that lights up the screen. The brand works with and without the character, in positive and negative, and stays legible at icon size.

How it works
Four steps, each with its own colour: build and share the list, shop with a live total, turn the receipt into history and see where the money goes.

The screens
The interface uses big colour blocks per list, prominent numbers and navigation that fits the thumb, so it works with the cart in the other hand.

Every list has its own critter
The characters were created with AI from a single style: frosted glass, a soft glow and two little eyes. There are more than 50 — lemon, banana, strawberry, avocado, bread, milk — and each list gets its own. They blink, breathe and change mood with the shopping.

The content
For the launch, a campaign of short ads built on supermarket moments everyone knows — the nicest banana in the pile, the checkout queue, the bags to the car — and a rap about the shopping list.
